Anisa Me'ira (Good natured woman who shares her Light) Anisa has been belly dancing since the spring of 1995. Her instruction began at the Keith Valley Middle School, in the Hatboro/Horsham area, with Athena (Carol Felker). Athena retired from belly dancing a few years after that and gave her classes over to Suffiyah, who continued to instruct her in the beauty that is belly dance. In 2004 Anisa was invited to try out for the Dancers Oasis Studios Troupe, where she was welcomed with open arms. She soon became Suffiyah’s assistant instructor for the KVMS Adult Evening Classes. As Dancers Oasis grew she followed in Suffiyah’s footsteps and became the instructor for the classes she once took, instructing as a Dancers Oasis Instructor.

“Anisa’s dance style reveals the beauty of graceful, sultry movements."

A Personal Note from the Dancer:

My mom took a semester at Keith Valley Middle School and excitedly came home to teach me a few of the teacher’s moves. From childhood, a fascination with Egypt’s history and the Aladdin stories pulled me into taking the next semester. My style is definitely a little of Egyptian and American Cabaret. The dance is liberating, fun, mysterious, sophisticated and saucy... without being, for lack of a better word, sleazy. The spirit of belly dance has now become an intricate part of who I am. It has helped me to grow and be more confident in myself, as well as to trust my instincts. I like to think my name reflects how I dance and teach.
